Spent New Years Eve on Pender Island this year. Counting down twenty-twelve by a bonfire on the beach with good company; couldn’t have asked for more.

Can’t get enough of yesterday’s vibes or Grimes voice out of my head.
Here is a sneak peak at one of my favourite shoots I’ve done to date. Thanks to Mila and Jenna for being geniuses.

Holy smokes look at all those notes on this shoot I did with the beautiful Lydia back in October for Bust Magazine! Perfect example why Tumblr is one of my favourite form of social media
(via styleisstyle)
Mish, Mila & I trekked out to Abotttsford today shoot the 3 lovely ladies behind the highly publicize blog Confessions of a 29 year Old Virgin for Mish’s forthcoming article for Vice.
This is a polaroid outtake from the day.
Every New Year’s for the last 3 years I’ve done a little summary of the past year. Being the sincere nostalgic person I am, it breaks my heart that somehow, a few months ago, I accidentally delete all the photos on my old wordpress blog. That old blog of mine was a very important part of my creative outlet between 2007-2010. I’m rambling on here a bit, but my point is, I really miss the fact that I cannot go back and look through “That’s a wrap edition 1 But, regardless, if you are at all curious you can have a look at the ed.2 from 2010 HERE.
I can’t really sum up 2011 in the way I did in my ed.2. It seems this year flew by under my nose. I almost didn’t even bother writing this entry at all for 2011. In fact it seems that 2011 was the complete opposite of 2010. I think mostly, this year was the year I decided to grow [up] and learn how to open my life/heart and share it with someone else, and I guess that in itself implied a pretty gigantic milestone for me; a Taurean only-child who prides themselves on their independence. I guess with that being said, 2011 has been a pretty beautiful year.

JANUARY: My mom came to visit and we went on the Vancouver Heritage Society bus tour. It was wonderful.

FEBRUARY: I met this guy. I think he is pretty darn special and that I’m probably the luckiest lady in the world. Patience is truely a virtue.

MARCH: Not only did I meet my dream partner a month before, I met someone who loves hiking and camping as much I do!

APRIL: When it rains it pours, and April showers brought May flowers. April was a busy busy month and a great one at that.

MAY: I turned 27 and was a busy bee taking photos and going on road trips. Like this one here in Oregon. How Beautiful right!?

JUNE: Frank & the lovely Jade got married! The Cheaper Show happened, the weather was crap and I worked every weekend.

JULY: I did a lot of this. “CHILL”N” . Has some pretty sweet camp hangs with my pals. Couldn’t asked for much more.

AUGUST: Jesse met my mother, this was a first. We went back east to hand with Jacque & Adrian in Toronto and had the best 2 weeks of summer.

SEPTEMBER: We made a trip to Gold River to go visit our pal Ryan. He is a float plane pilot and likes to live in the middle of nowhere BC.

OCTOBER: I got to shoot in the Overlynn Mansion in Burnaby. Quite possible my favourite (non-wilderness) location to date. Check out the art nouveau details above the fireplace!

NOVEMBER: This was a special month. My Montreal family, aka my father and his siblings came to visit me. We went to a Lion’s game (despite the defeat against the Al’s) and then we spent 8 days on the beach in Hawaii. They also welcomed Jesse into the family with the warmest embrace. Everyday I’m so very thankful for having the most amazing family!

DECEMBER: Marks the end of one year, and the introduction to the next. Here’s to 2012 being the great year to date and proving the Mayan’s wrong. :)
Today Alana and I thought it would be neat to take one another’s portrait. Here is a self timed polaroid I took at the end of the shoot. (In case you didn’t already know, Alana is a great photographer!)
Here are a few behind the scene outtakes from a recent shoot I did with the talented ladies Aiya and Jessica for a little upcoming feature story for BWG

ALSO, IT’S THE 2ND LAST DAY TO VOTE FOR ME PORTFOLIO FOR THE EXPOSURE CONTEST. IT TAKES 2 SECONDS. JUST CLICK HERE! Thanks to those who have already to taken the time to vote. you guys rule!
Hey There!
I have a really hard time with self promoting and putting myself out there, I should have done this 2 months ago and I’m leaving it now with only 5 days left. YIKES! I’d love it if you took a second and clicked VOTE on my profile for the Exposure 2011 photography contest. If I got the most votes I could win a fully paid for 2 week trip to Paris. This is very much last minute, but worth the shot anyways.

My friend Kim Johnson has created a unique space on her property where touring bands can crash. Appropriately named, The Band Hotel, the 1 bedroom/full kitchen & bath suit has hosted the likes of Thee Oh Sees, Real Estate and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, just to name a few.
I had recently come into possession of a whole lot of Fuji Silk Insta-film, so I asked Kim and she wanted a few snaps of the space.

[In all honesty, despite being forewarned on the lack of quality of Fuji vs Polaroid, I had high hopes that perhaps Fuji silk might be different…but unfortunately Polaroid wins again. Despite the greatness having miniature hard copies of your subject develop right in your hand, I feel as though with introduction of Instagram into social media the uniqueness of these kind of photos is slowly diminishing.]
Several months back I met with local Vancouver style blogger Lydia Okello and shot her for a feature for Bust Magazine.
Just recieved the issue in the mail today:
